Lioness and Buffalo

Buffalo are difficult prey for Lions. They weigh up to 2,000 pounds and have a nasty temperament. A herd will come together to fight off predators.

Lions will try to take them down. Often, the pride works to separate a smaller or weaker animal. Still, it is a difficult kill, even for two to three lions. Buffalo often inflict serious and fatal wounds.
